Uncles' final resting place

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

Uncles' final resting place

Post by Next Move »

This is the third time Ive tried posting - I click on the finished article and my internet goes down! :x

My uncle was a partisan/freedom fighter in WW2. He died a year after the war finished, of TB, said to have been brought on by spending a lot of his time in the caves. My brother thinks our mum said he was based in Belluno, Im sure she told me he was 'up in the mountains' - so, further north somewhere.

I think my mum took me to where, either, he was buried or remembered, but I was too young to recall.

Any idea how or where I can find this information please? I would like to return there, with my partner. Sadly, my mum now has dementia so I cannot ask her.

Thank you.

That is my mother. I'm not sure all of the story is factually correct. I didn't think my uncle died in Germany, but I may be wrong.
