Help with death record-Giovanni Conte

Post by pm16 »

Can someone please help translate this. It looks like there is a lot of information and dates on this one. All I can get out of it is that his parent's were Antonio Conte and Anna Maria Bartolomeo.

Thank you!

Dated 2 September 1917 at the town office
The official received from the minister of war an authentic copy of the act of death relative to Giovanni Conte, which he transcribed exactly...
Extract of the act of death of soldier Giovanni Conte, written in he register of the 235th Regiment Fanteria, page 8, #6...
Dated 1917 on 21 July .. in trench 219...
It appears 20yo soldier, Giovanni Conte of 235th Regiment Fanteria, 7th Company, matriculation #1198, died(?) in Perdifumo, province of Salerno, son of Antonio and of Anna Maria di Bartolomeo, and is buried in trench 219...

Hopefully another set of eyes can confirm or correct ...

Thanks to you both. I did some more digging and found this website : http://www.cadutigrandeguerra.it/Default.aspx which lists soldiers who died in WWI. I found his name on it as well, but I never would have thought to look for anything like that if it wasn't for your help with the translation.

Thank you! :)
