Birth Certificate

Post by isaballe »

Having a hard time reading this one. I thought I read he was a foundling but not positive. Of what significance is Providenza Nardo as noted on the document. I ask because he named his daughter Providenza.

The birth certificate is for Filippo Sorentini #34...top left. Thank you very much for helping me.

#34
Filippo Sorentini

Side note: On 16 April 1896 he married Antonia Butto in Patti.

The record is dated 9 May 1869. The child was a foundling of about 24 hours old, received at the wheel of the abandoned and presented to the official, who gave him the name Filippo Sorentini. He was consigned to a wet-nurse named Providenza Nardo.
