Requesting U.S. naturalization certificate -- which form?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Requesting U.S. naturalization certificate -- which form?

Post by kmdefever »

I'm about to send $$ to the U.S. government for my GGF's naturalization certificate. It's my understanding that I'm to use Form G-1041A "Genealogy Records Request" and write Dual Citz-Natz Certificate Only on top. They won't send me a certified copy, but I'm to keep the copy they send me in the envelope they send it in. Apparently that's good enough for the consulate's purposes.

Really? No federal government certification or apostille?

I'm looking for confirmation that this is correct before I proceed. Thank you!

I didn't use the naturalization certificate so I don't have the answer to this.

You may want, however, to order the pre-naturalization documents (declaration, petition, oath) as a supplement and for your own records. They are certified if you request this.
