Hi there

So what you have here is the very last section of a Birth Act, and it is not really going to be much help to you if you don't have the rest of it. It basically gives you the age and occupation of one of the witnesses and the name, age, and occupation of the second witness. Then there are four signatures which belong to the two witnesses, an official and possibly the father of the child or whoever reported the birth.

Just to add to Angela's explanation. The witnesses listed in the birth act were not witnesses to the birth, but rather witnesses to the declaration of the birth, and the presentation of the newborn, at the town hall. There were occasionally extenuating circumstances which prevented the newborn from being physically presented. In most instances, however, the infant was presented by its father, or possibly the midwife, if the father was unable to do so.

Happy to help. Glad you have the first page too - that's real important.
