Translation Assistance with Marriage Record-Insigna

Post by ItalianbellaSA »

Hi Everyone:

I could use a little help with a translation of a marriage record. I am looking for the marriage record of Giuseppe Insigna and Preziosa Innuso of Mistretta, Messina, Italy. I think I found the correct record in the index for 1854 but not sure about the translation of the actual record. Any assistance would be appreciated. Here is the link for the index:

Here is the link to the record (I think):

Thanks again,

Sue Antista
It is hoped that the research I am doing helps to discover, preserve and celebrate my family history.

The actual marriage record is here: http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0
The hand-writen is terrible...
The left column shows the Marriage Promise (Feb 17 1854).
The right columns indicates that the marriage was celebrated on Feb 19 in the parish church.
Groom: Giuseppe Insigna, aged 30, born in Mistretta, shepherd, son of ?? Vicenzo and of ?? Michela Capol???
Bride: Preziosa Innuso, aged 19, spinner, born in Mistretta, daughter of Giuseppe and of Sabatina? Anteri?

The groom's parents were deceased. Before each name "defunto/defunta"

The bride's mother's given name looks like Sebastiana to me, and surname Antoci.

Michela's surname could be Azzolina which is found in the town. The next to the last letter looks more like an "n" in the index.
