Searching for 2xG Grandparents documents for Dual Citizenship

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Searching for 2xG Grandparents documents for Dual Citizenship

Post by markallensmith »

Hi All---thank you all in advance. I appreciate any help that is provided.

Situation:
I posess all documentation for each line of my family leading up to my great great grandparents Guseppe Damato and Maria Chirichella. I require Birth, marriage and death certificates for them as well as proof of naturalization but the other docs are more important now.

What I know:
Lived in Hoboken NJ at least from 1895-1930.

Maria and Guseppe had five kids that survived between 1885-1900 (Angelina, Rose, Jennie, John and Dominick)
Both parents are found on 1895, 1900, 1910 and 1920 census. Only Maria is found living with Dominick in 1930.

Maria and Guseppe are on Dominick birth cert and Rose's marriage record to Framilius(Frank) Brogna.

Speculation:
based on census account their vital dates are:

Area of Italy; Naples or Salerno area.
Angelina and Rose may have been born in NY

Guseppe Birth: 1856
Guseppe Immigration: 1880
Maria Birth: 1862
Maria Immigration: 1885

Neither naturalized or at least did not through 1920 as they are marked as alien on the 1920 census.

Thank you!

Hi,
I believe that this immigration record is abt your Maria Chirichella, travelling with Giovanni D' Amato 56 old:

This Maria seeming born on 1859... if it is the right Maria...
