Translation of Death Record

Post by sandyleanza »

Hello, Can someone please translate this death record? The index says it is for Mrs Saverio Leanza. I can see the name Concetta Galati in the record, which is my Saverio Leanza's Wife. They had a son Calogero together on Oct 31 1844. Is he the Calogero is that mentioned in the record? Does it list parent names? Cause of Death? Profession? etc.

Record 117

Okay, So using google translate, I think the following things:

She died in the home of Master?? Saverio Leanza (her husband) at the age of (40 something??)

Date of death was Dec 4th 1844??
She was a Shoemaker??
She lived in (no idea)??
Her Fathers name was Giovanni? who was also a Shoemaker who lived in (no idea)??
Her Mothers name was Gaetana (no idea on the two names following that)?? who lived in (no idea)??

Please help me with this record. I dont speak/write/read Italian and I am very bad at translating, lol!

And the Gaetana's surname is Virzi - found in Cesaro'

There is a surname found in Catania - Virzi Pipio -- that is what the entire surname looks like to me :-)

Similar... but the name of the lane/road may have changed in the 174 years since the death record was written.

Brancatelli

Post by renlady »

Need any info on Marianna Brancatelli Petrisi, married to Nunzio Petrisi, from Militello Sicily. I am specifically looking for marriage date or any info pertaining to their marriage. They immigrated to Cleveland Ohio and the last name was changed from Petrisi to Petrice. I believe one of their sons, Antonio returned to Sicily. thanks in advance
