Lucia Fiegoli

Post by khoney »

I am trying to find out what happened to Lucia Fiegoli after she came to the United States on 8 Dec 1914. According to the ship manifest she would be staying with her son Luigi Battista at 204 8th, NYC. Lucia does not appear on the 1915 NY Census living with Luigi nor with her other two children who also lived in New York. I am hoping to track down any of her brothers or sisters who came to the USA thinking she may be staying with them.

Would someone please help with the spelling of Lucia Fiegoli mother’s name. Below are three examples, all a bit fuzzy.

Lucia birth Number 131

Lucia Marriage Number 24

Lucia’s parents’ marriage Number 4

Also, if Lucia returned to Italy after 1914 does anyone know of an online resource to check?

Thank you,
Karen

Lucia's mother's surname is Percoco - found in Chiaromonte.

Thank you Tessa.

Any ideas of where to look for a return trip to Italy?

There are no records for return trips that we are aware of.
If she did return, you might look for a death act there.

I have not located a US Census for Luigi Battista, have you?

EDIT TO ADD:
I checked the death indices in Chiaromonte from 1915 through 1929 ('17 and '18 were missing) and did not find Lucia Fiegoli.

Hi Tessa,

Thank you for looking. Luigi is shown as Luegi Batisto in the 1905 and as Louis in the 1915 New York, State Census along with his family living in NYC. Of Lucia’s three children who moved to the USA none appear in the Federal census prior to 1930. I will try to locate her living with other Figoli and Percoco families.

Where did you find the death indices in Chiaromonte from 1915 through 1929?

On Ancestry.

While searching, I found a death act for Nicolantonio Battista, age 2 years 5 months, son of Giovanni Battista and Lucia Fiegoli. He died in November 1887.
