Luigi Cervetto Marine Records

Post by Teresa »

I am trying to locate the Marine records for my Grandfather Luigi Cervetto born 21st January 1858 in Recco Genoa
his father's name was Girolamo and mother Caterina Badaracco. I beleive he joined the Marines when he was 14-15 years old. I would like to know the ships he sailed on. I think he was a Captain.
Thanks for your help. Teresa Salvati

date of his birth was 22/1/1858 in Recco and I believe he joined the Marines when he was approx. 15 years of age .
His parents were Girolamo Cervetto & Caterina Badaracco from Recco Genoa.

Can you be more specific about where Luigi first appeared in Australia?

Do you know if, when, and what state in Australia Luigi naturalised? Generally you might find the date and ship of arrival amongst those documents.

No I wish I had more information. That is what I am looking for. I have searched many ship's crew in those years but unfortunately I cant't find his name. All I know was he was a crew member and disembarked somewhere in Austraian and did not reboard his ship when it left port !!!!! Obviously he sailed from somewhere in Europe to Australia !!! Would somewhere keep records of the Crews in those days ???
