Death act - Giuseppe Colangelo
Hi guys,
I'm not expecting anyone to be able to tell me what this act says. My question here is, have any of you seen a mess like this before and is there a way to make it easier to read?

Thanks
Julie

I'm sure you need a good photo program to try to get this image easier to read. Unfortunately, I don't currently have one on my computer.
What I can read, in case you need the info, is that the record is dated Aug 14, 1837 in Trani. I believe Giuseppe was age 45, but I'm not sure about the 5, but he was in his 40s. His wife was Isabella Marasciulo. That I am sure about. His parents were both deceased. I think his father's first name was Paolo. I can't make out the mother's name at all. Giuseppe was a contadino or peasant. I think the death took place on the 13th, but I'm not 100% on this. It happened though at 11 P.M. That I'm certain about.

I think we should try to find Isabella's death record to see if we can confirm Colangelo's first name. I started looking last night. In 1860, there was an infant who died with her name but not her.researching wrote: 24 Oct 2018, 06:55 Thanks, Erudita.

The index makes me think it's Giuseppe.

The only names I recall seeing in the 1837 death index were the names of the deceased. I'm on my way out to aerobics class. If I can access the index when I get back, I'll post the link. I recall there was another Giuseppe Colangelo who died in the same year.

They're all named Giuseppe
Re: Death act - Giuseppe Colangelo
Here's a link to the 1837 death index. Only the names of the deceased. Also, the father's name in the record is definitely not Giuseppe. I'm 99% sure it's Paolo, but I would like to see confirmation from a more legible record.

I was joking about them all being named Giuseppe. There are a lot of them.
I thought you meant the person the act was about. Now I understand.

I'm not too worried about this one, because I don't think I can link it to my tree without going farther back in time.
Re: Death act - Giuseppe Colangelo
I still would like to confirm the first name of the father, but I won't spend a lot of time trying to track down his wife's death record. It's always possible that she remarried and this husband won't even be listed in her death record. It's just that I spent years deciphering microfilmed records, and did not always having access to a machine that magnified them, so I got really good at reading some pretty awful records. I'm just trying to determine if my skills have gotten rusty or are still good!
