New citizenship laws passed Dec 2018

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

New citizenship laws passed Dec 2018

Post by PippaCouch »

Hello

I note that Italian citizenship laws have just changed and I wonder if anyone can clarify. The consulate website in London says applicants have to prove B1 or higher level of Italian. I am however unsure if this applies to all applications or if it is just for those applying by marriage or residency, guvfn that those by descent already are Italian at birth. Does anyone know?

If we do need to have B1 level or higher I'll start studying now!
