Dated 21 April 1892 at 7:35 AM at the town office.

Before the official Nicola Lembo, son of deceased Giacomo, acting for the mayor... in Ferrazzano, appeared Giovanna Valentino, age 51, midwife residing in Ferrazzano, to declare that at 4:15 AM, on the 18th of the current month, in the house in Strada Neviera(?), to Carmela Lembo, farmer, wife of Nicolamaria Sanzo, farmer, both residing in Ferranzano was born a female child who was presented to the official and to whom was given the name MARIA FRANCESCA

To the above (declaration and presentation) were present as witnesses Domenico Cutrone, 32, shoemaker; and Carmine Cerio, 22, gentleman, both residents in this town. The declarant announced the said birth as she was present and assisted in the birth, and in place of the husband of said Lembo, as he was not able to announce because he was far from the town.

The official read the act to all the participants and he and the witnesses signed as the declarant was illiterate.

April 21, 1892, Giovanna Valentino, 51 year old midwife, appeared and declared that at 4:15 a.m. on April 18, 1892, in the home on Strada Neviera, Carmela Lembo, farmer, wife of Nicolamaria Sanzo, farmer, domiciled in Ferrazzano, gave birth to a female child who was given the name of Maria Francesca. Other witnesses gave the announcement instead of the husband because he was unable to because of his distance from the comune.

EDIT: Sorry for the duplicate post- Tessa posted just before I did.

Since he was a "contadino" (farmer/peasant), it is likely that he was working in the countryside. :D
