Translation for Maria Galucci birth record

Post by jeanniedasc »

Would be grateful for the dates of birth and baptism for Maria Galucci (link below). Also confirmation for ages of her father Giuseppe Galucci and mother Concetta Fidelibus ... and any relevant information as to where they were born in Atessa or where they were living.

I will check this against my inexperienced guesses looking at translations of other birth records here, and hopefully it will help me with my other records.

Thank you!

Maria Gallucci was born on 11 Auguwt 1846, and baptized on 13 August 1846.
She was he daughter of Giuseppantonio Gallucci, 31, farmer residing in Comune of Atessa, in Santa Croce district; and of Concetta Fidelibus, 26, his wife.
You can see Giuseppe Antonios signature on page 2.

There is a margin notation of her marriage (#61) on 16 September 1867 in Atessa. The notation is dated February 1868.
Maria Gallucci, daughter of Giuseppantonio Gallucci, of Atessa, was married with Salvatore Caporale, son of deceased Stefano, of Castelfrentano Chieti.

Here is the marriage act (#61)

Thank you so much Tessa. I am slowly figuring this out (Or perhaps I should say I am starting to learn) but I did not understand Stefano Caporale was deceased when they got married. The earlier records for Castelfrentano are not online for some reason. Or at least I cannot find them if they are. If I understand it right, Chieti is completely digitized. Have you encountered that before?

Some digitized records are only viewable at a Family History Center or FHC affiliated Library.
Here is the film you will need to view there. It contains the births for 1845, which is the year of Salvatore's birth.

AND... this is the film which contains the deaths for 1844, which should give you Stefano's death act.

I located the Publication of Banns of Marriage for the couple which provided some additional information.
Publication of banns for the marriage of Salvatore and Maria.
It gives the birth dates of the spouses: Salvatore on 22 May 1845, and Maria on 11 August 1846.
And the death date of Stefano Caporale: 8 November 1844

Wow, THANK YOU! This is my husband’s tree (and my children’s) and we are visiting this area in Italy in May, so I am very grateful for your help. It sound’s like I better really be looking at marriage banns too.

Thank you again! We have a Family History Center near us.
