Can you be more specific?

Provide 1st names, year of birth, & where they lived.

What are your research goals & what documentation do you have already?

It does not show up on surname distribution for Italy. The name is more than likely a variation. The name in it's current spelling did not appear in Ellis Island records. Suanj or Ricbru would have a better idea of what the correct name is and from what area.
As Jcsm stated, by providing more detailed information further details could be provided to you.

My name is Michael Barresi (Boston) and I'm third generation. My grandfather's family came from Mineo, Catania, Sicily. They came to America in 1907. My great-grandfather Francesco Barresi and great-grandmother Caterina Nolfo, came to the US with their oldest (and at the time only) child, 1 yr old Arcangela (Rose,) in 1907.

Barresi family was very important in Sicily. They were princes of Pietraperzia, Barrafranca, Militello and a lot of other towns.

Hi, I have ancestors from Mineo and my great great great grandmother’s maiden name was “Nolfo” before she married an “Abbondanza”. Perhaps we are related.

My name is Cristina Barresi and my grandfather Cosmo Barresi left Palermo in 1921. There’s a good chance we may be related!
