Could someone please translate this birth record of my great-great-grandfather Francesco DeMichele? The father is not listed, but is there any information regarding him or the "legitimacy" of the birth?

Before the official in Bitonto appeared Maria De Michele, 21, spinner residing in Bitonto, to declare that at 3 AM on the 1st of the current month, in the house in strada S. Pietro ????, no number, from her union with an unmarried man, not a relative and who she does not name, was born a male child who was presented to the official and to whom was given the name FRANCESCO

Well, I would imagine that there are many possibilities - but they are all speculation without proof.
I searched the civil records for a Pubblicazione di Matrimoni - request to publish the intent to marry - and did not find one in years 1887-1891. This publication of banns would have been required to allow for anyone with opposition to the marriage to come forward.
In the records where a child is born to a couple who have been married in the church, but not in a civil service, I usually find both parents acknowledging the child as theirs since their union has been blessed by the church.
