Hello,
Could some help with the 4 translations below. I see some back and forth on the ss or zz in the surname if I'm reading it correctly in birth and death records. Angelo looks like zz, but the younger son looks like ss. Also, I was curious as to who the reporting person was if its listed on the death certificates, it looks like it was the menozzi or menossi for both Paolo and Prassede.
Parents Death Certificates - Attached from Langhirano Commune.
Paolo Menossi - Death 1932
Prassede Losi - Death 1928
Sons - Both born in Quattroville (Virgilio)
Angelo Menossi (Menozzi?) - 1880 - Page 53 - Entry #80

Vittorio Menossi - 1882 - Page 71 - Entry #104

Thank you!

Re: Help translating birth and death certificates
Angelo Menozzi, born 1880 to Paolo Menozzi and Prassede Losi, was born without life [stillborn].
Vittorio Menossi, born 1882 to Paolo Menossi and Prassede Losi.
One of the declarants at the death in 1928 of Prassede Losi [wife of Paolo Menossi] was Antonio Menozzi, a 39yo guard.
One of the declarants at the death in 1932 of Paolo Menossi was Antonio Menossi, a 42yo laborer.

Thank you T.
Two quick follow ups:
What was the date of birth/death on Angelo if I'm seeing it correctly I made out September?
Curious have you seen things like this prior with zz and ss, I know in one of my prior posts Angela went over how the s and z were written when doubled and some inconsistencies. Here is almost seems like the "scribe" is writing it a certain way or possibly illiteracy as it seems to change back and forth? Paolo's marriage certificate in 1875 looks to me like ss as well.
Thanks!

Yes - 23 September 1880 at 2 AM in the house in Corte Maggiorine #16

This is not uncommon, and it can sometimes just be what the clerk is used to. I have seen surname spellings change over time and within families. As you stated, it has much to do with illiteracy.
Thanks!

Re: Help translating birth and death certificates
Thank you Tessa I appreciate it!
I re-looked at a earlier 10 year birth index, and see exactly what you described. Even Paolo's older brothers children had this happen it appears....depending on the year it was written as ss or zz.
