In looking at the Pubblicazioni di Matrimoni form, under information for the bride and groom, it asks for the name of the father of the bride and groom and also asks for the age of the father. Does anyone know why the age of the groom's and bride's father was important?
I've attached an example of where the father of the groom is deceased, but the age of the father is still listed. Again, what would be the reason for that?
Thank you!
Pubblicazioni di Matrimoni lists father's age?
Re: Pubblicazioni di Matrimoni lists father's age?
It varies from comune to comune.
The age for a deceased father, when given, references his age at death.
Perhaps it helps to identify the person (given the repetition of names with Italian naming tradition) or just to fill in a blank on the form.

Thank you Tessa! That was my assumption.
