Tomb Stones

My Great Grandfather and mother were buried in a catholic cemetery in suburb of Chicago.
They of course came from Sicily, I have a picture of the tomb stone and there is a picture of him
and of her. That is very cool. But, there is a Letter in front of the Birth and Death dates.

Does anyone have insight into what the letter means?

Side note, I have a problem attaching a picture and I also have a problem with sending PMs.
Says my PM is in out box and it doesn't send.
Never have I been able to figure this out. I even asked the managers about it with no luck.

My PM tool doesn't work too well either, some people message me and it goes to the outbox, might be SPAMMERS?

I honestly do not know what that symbol means, but a picture may help.

I think that an outgoing PM stays in your outbox until the recipient opens it
