Italian record translation

Post by jenrpiehl »

After many years of trying, I finally was able to obtain a death certificate for my great grandfather. I am confident a previous search I did matches. The record is in Italian but I cannot read it. It's written in beautiful script but it's a script I'm unfamiliar with. I can't quite tell what some letters are. Any help is appreciated so so much. I'm looking for a birth date and family names.. stuff like that.

This is an extract of birth record for Raffaele Santangelo (#46) from the book of births in 1885.
On 8 March 1885, Giovanni Santangelo, age 40, a miller residing in Francavilla Sicilia, appeared at the town hall to declare that at 5:10 AM on the 7th of the current month in the house in strada Blanco, to Susanna Magnera, his wife who resides with him, was born a male child who he presented to the official and to whom was given the name Raffaele.
The two witnesses to the record would most likely have been people who happen to be at the town hall at the time of the presentation of the child, and would not be related.
