Death certificate for an Italian immigrant in New York City/Queens (1930s)

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Death certificate for an Italian immigrant in New York City/Queens (1930s)

Post by JonPre123 »

This forum has been helpful in the past. I’m researching my paternal Great-Great Grandmother -

Rosolina CARINO (maiden name Varallo).

I already have a birth certificate (1853)/ Marriage Certificate (1882)/ Passenger List (1912) / US census records(1920 &1930) (Queens New York)

The 1920 and 1930 census shows her living with her daughter’s family. The 1930 is the last record I have of her. She does not appear in the 1940 census with her daughter’s family.

1930 census (line 17) misspelled “Rose Cerino”

I have been unable to find a death certificate or obituary mention. I was assuming she died between April 1930 and 1940?

Wondering if the kind people in this community might have a suggestion about where to find her death certificate? or have another idea?

Thank you in advance

It could be this the record, mispelled surname by who transcribed the record:

Carenao, Rosalina - D - May-6-1934
death cert: n°10266 (1934) Kings birth year: 1851 - 1852

Thank you both, I'm grateful beyond words. I'm touched by this meaningful gesture and overjoyed to have this document.
