Giovanni Colonnello's 1892 birth act

Post by Biff83 »

Below is the birth act which I need some clarification on. What town was he born in? it appears that his grandfther Francesco Colonnello presented the child and stated his parents were Anna Salvati and Gustavo Colonnello. Margin notes look like at the time of Giovanni's birth in 1892, his parents were not legally married but married in 1897 in San Lorenzo, which i think was a quartieri of Naples. Are there any clues or important details at the botton of the birth act.
Thanks for your help.

Biff,

In the body of the record Anna Salvati is identified as wife of Gustavo Colonnello, and in the bottom narrative it states that the husband of Salvati did not make the declaration because he was far from this city.

I am reading "napoli Villaggio _____?" the last word could be Lorenzo??

However, you are correct that the margin note indicates a recognition of the child with the marriage of the couple in S. Lorenzo in 1897.

Perhaps they were married by the church before birth, and married in civil ceremony in 1897.

I'd say "Napoli villaggio Vomero"
Giuseppe "Pippo" Moccaldi
