Deciphering bride's birthplace

Post by stfrancis »

Attached is the 1861 marriage record for Vincenzo and Filomena (I think) Tartarone which occured in Sala Consilina (Salerno). I am trying to decipher Filomena's birth town. It appears to be made of two names.
I would think she is from another town since I don't see the name Sala after her birth...
Even though the name Tartarone is quite common to Sala, I believe her father Luigi married his wife, Teresa Mauro, in whatever town the Mauro's are from. Then he maybe moved back to Sala to live there.....The Mauro name is not commonly found in Sala
I tried enhancing the image also.
Unfortunately the birth records ect are not included.

If anyone might take a shot at trying to figure it out, I would welcome your ideas

I am reading - Giffoni Sei Casali - which is a comune that is also in Salerno province.

Here is the birth of Filomena Tartarone in Giffoni Sei Casali in 1839.

Wow, amazing! just like that, thank you Tessa
And you even found her birth record :D
That seems closer to Naples than Sala, interesting

(I was way off on my guess....so I wont even mention it)

Here is another daughter, Maria Giuseppa Tartarone, born to Luigi and Teresa in March 1832, in Giffoni Sei Casali.

At the births of both daughters the family was residing in Prepezzano (which is a hamlet of Giffoni Sei Casali)

I have tried to find the marriage act of this couple, but without success so far.
