Atti di Nascita Felice Braico

Post by EMTLP »

Hello,
Would someone kindly help with the details of this birth record for Felice Braico. It took me a while to figure out where he was born from but I a delighted to have figured it out.

I am interested in every detail. I have a birth date of 6 Apr 1890. His father is Ferdinando. I can't make out much else. I can't even pick out his mother's name.

See Attached.

Thank you,
Eileen

The mother is Angiola Castronuovo. On page 30 there is the birth of a twin sister, Teresa Braico

To add to Livio's information...

Dated 8 April 1900 - with birth on 6 April (as you say)
Father is Ferdinando, age 46, proprietor.
He signed the record with the official.

Thank you both for your help. It is interesting that Felix has a twin sister! I wonder what became of her. I looked for a marriage from 1875 back to 1865 for Angiola Castronuovo and Ferdinando Braico. Once I got to 1864 I couldn't make heads or tails out of the records. Ferdinando was relatively old when Felix was born. If he was born in 1844 my guess he got married about 1862 unless it was a second marriage.

Thank you again for your help.

Ferdinando was age 46 in 1900 - putting a birth year about 1854.

I checked the 10 year indices from 1875 through 1885 and did not find them.
I also checked the individual indices from 1886 through 1900 unsuccessfully.

Marriages usually took place in the home town of the bride. Perhaps Angiola was from a neighboring town. Though the surname Castronuovo is found in Montalbano Jonico.

Thank you for trying. Maybe I'll find other children that might help narrow down the dates.
