Re: Help with translating
You both are amazing! Thank you so much!
It makes a lot of sense that Angelo could have had a brother named Pietro and a son named Pietro!
Most of the information I have is from a family history book that was put together by a relative. I have also done some digging online.
The one I am really interested in is Maria Pandini. I need to locate her birth record.....she is my needle in a haystack!
Again, Thank you!

Re: Help with translating
As mmogno pointed out in his post above, the information from the hospital of Como indicates that Maria Pandini was EXPOSED on April 1, 1856. This means that she was abandoned as an infant or was a foundling. So her first and last names would have been assigned to her by an official. Birth records for that year are not online, and the hospital records that are online, are for later years and are only for deaths. Since no parents' names are listed for her in her marriage record, this means that her natural parents never reclaimed her or never acknowledged her as their natural daughter. This was very common, as most exposed infants were never reclaimed. Many, in fact, even died before they reached their first birthdays. So, I'm sorry, but you are at a dead end where Maria Pandini is concerned.

Re: Help with translating
Thank you for explaining what exposed means. That really helps out. I know it will be difficult to find her birth records. I actually hired someone in Italy to help me find her birth record. Fingers crossed that they can.
Thank you for the link to the hospital records as well. I will keep looking!

Re: Help with translating
I just hope you’re not disappointed with the content of Maria’s birth act, if the person you hired manages to retrieve a copy of it. Anyway, let us know if are able to get a copy of the record and whether it gives you any additional info about Maria. Wishing you luck.

@erudita74
