Marriage record, 1836

Two questions about this guy who married his wife’s younger sister:

1. In other records, his mother Concetta had the same surname as his dad, but here it’s different but I can’t read it.

2. There is a note about the sister aspect of this marriage, but I can’t quite read it and also I’m not sure who Giuseppe is when her dad is Placido. What is the gist of that note?

I’m reading Concetta’s surname as Tarantola.

As to the bride and the Don* (title) Giuseppe Lusitano who appears in the record. He was also a property owner in the town, and I’m reading he was a procuratore-legal representative of his sister, the bride, Donna* (title) Maria Lusitano, age 24, who had never before been married and who was living with her brother. Her father was Don*(title) Placido (Lusitano) and her mother deceased Donna* (title) Dorotea Caglia.

Oh, yes, ok, she has a half-brother from her father’s first marriage; he’s about 10 years older. I was confused because her father was still alive. Guess he couldn’t handle things, so pawned her off.

Unfortunately I’ve never been able to find out more about Dorotea as she died when her girls were young, before the earliest available Messina death record (1820).
