surname Annaratone
I am looking for information for the surname Annaratone; spcifically from Bassignana. Italy. My greatgrand father is Luigi Annaratone immigrated in 1912 from Bassignana. I was wondering how I find out what ship he came over on?

Line 5:
Luigi Annaratone, age 24, farm laborer, single, able to read and write
Leaving Brother Pietro Annaratone in Bassignana.
Going to cousin Ernesto Annaratone at 64 Front St., Memphis, Tenn.

You can go to ellisisland.org and look at the manifest yourself if you'd like.
The site is free, but you need to register.
Notice that the spelling of the last name at the Ellis Island site is different. Use the spelling they have to find it.
Meanwhile, I will try to post the ship manifest on photobucket and post the link here.
Good Luck,
T.

You have many options for continuing your search. As vj mentioned, you can use the stevemorse website. In addition, since you know the commune (town) Luigi came from, you can write to the town and request his birth record. You can also visit your local Family History Center and request the microfilm of the births, deaths, marrriages, for the commune. Searching those films is quite rewarding and can provide lots of information going back generations.
Now that you have something to start with, enjoy the experience of searching for your ancestors!
