Searching Cafarelli from Ciccitura or Potenza, Basilicata

I am searching for information on my husband's great-grandparents, Vincenzo (born 1854) and Grazia (or Maria Grazia) Cafarelli (born 1858), who had a large family in New Jersey and New York. Children included Domenico, Giuseppe, Giulietta, Angela, Federico, and Nicola, my husband's ancestor.

Vincenzo immigrated in 1879 and brought family members over at various times, several in 1893. Records show the family as coming from Potenza, Basilicata, or Ciccitura. I haven't been able to locate Ciccitura on a map or on the web.

I have located census records and passenger lists. If you have any other information, including the location of Ciccitura, please contact me. Thank you.

Hi, Valarie! I'm new to this, so fumbling a bit, but this draft card is where I found what I read as Ciccitura. Are you reading it as Accettura (or Accitura)? Is that the comune? I have to beef up my knowledge of Italian politics and history!

Ciccitura exist not in Italy, in Basilicata region exist ACCETTURA town...

Yes Accettura is the town (comune) in the province of Matera
