Help with translation
I am needing help again with some translation.
If someone out there has a base copy of the Atto Di Nascita printed in English form, instead of in Italian, it would be of great assistance to me.
Or, maybe there is a web address that I can have that has these and other italian forms already translated (the base form anyhow) and all I have to do is the handwritten part.
Either way, here is the form that I need translated. I have about 4 of these that need done, but this is the one that intriques me the most.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for everything!

Hi misschristi16
I'll take a look at your document. However, here is a site for guidance in extraction of documents (in Italian, then English)...

This is a record of the birth of Filomena Verritto, born on 11 April 1863 to Angela d'Onofrio, 36, living in Marzuli (?), and Pietro Verritto, her husband, 40, laborer. Declaration at the town hall was made by Luiga Capobianco, 60, midwife, daughter of deceased Nunzio.

Re: Help with translation
You should consider that Luiga does not exists. it could be either Luisa or Luigia...Tessa78 wrote:Thanks Livio

Re: Help with translation
Absolutely!
Interestingly, when I first looked at it I thought I saw Luigia...looked again and didn't see the second "i"...instead of concluding it was Luisa, I just wrote Luiga.
Thanks again Livio

Re: Help with translation
Here is a page that I need help with on the translation again.
If you could please read or translate the parish part, also on the right hand side, and maybe tell me all the handwritten pieces on there.
But, even just the name, date and parents name would be most appreciated. Whatever you have time for. Thanks.

Re: Help with translation
You also may wish to peruse the publication Italian Genealogical Records by Trafford R. Cole at your nearest library for exemplars of the Atti di Nascita which may prove helpful to you. =Peter=

Re: Help with translation
Thanks Peter
I have a copy of this form in english, but my problem is the handwriting. I just cannot see it as others so quickly.
But, I am learning. I guess I just want to learn to quickly, so I get frustrated. Thanks for the advice about the book. I will definately look into that.

Re: Help with translation
First atto is for baby Pasquale Palmieri born 3 March 1864 to
Giacomo Palmieri, 36, son of Antonio, profession fattore (?) - farm manager, and to his wife Filomena Giongrande (sp?), 20.
Looks like the baptism was on the 6th of March at parish of S. Onofrio di Sofia (?)
Comune looks like Serra(?) in Terra di Lavoro province.
