Hello everyone,
For those of you on this forum with ties to the ancient and beautiful paese of Caccuri, I would like to inform you about the newly released second edition of a wonderful book about the village. The book is in Italian, however, there are over 200 beautiful color photographs in the book which bring the paese to life even for those who do not speak the language. The author, Dott. Luigino Ventura, has done a spectacular job with this book about his hometown. Dott. Ventura is now a professor in Milan but his fondness of his origins is evident in his work. Proceeds from the book are being donated by Dott. Ventura for the preservation of some of the village's most precious sites which have fallen into disrepair.
The book is available through Michael Shamansky Bookseller in New York either online:

Re: A wonderful book on Caccuri
Thanks Donna! I'm definitely going to get this book. A number of my relatives (surnames Falbo, Olivito, Pignanelli, Secreto) lived in Caccuri before immigrating to WV, and I am very interested in learning more about their area of origin.

That's great, I'm glad I posted here. You'll love the book.
My grandmother and all of her brothers and sisters emigrated from Caccuri to West Virginia too. Her surname was DeBartolo. I have Pignanelli in my family also, but from San Giovanni in Fiore.
