Henrietta Pietronave from the Genoa area

Hello everybody, nice to meet you.

I'm looking for any information that may be available on my grandmother Henrietta Pietronave.

I really know very little other than she came from the Genoa area and emigrated to London some time in the 1920s. My dad Geraldo was born illegitimately in January 1930 in London (Hanover Square), so I would guess she was born in the 1900s or thereabouts. Unfortunately she died in the early 40s from illness but I can trace no death certificate. There may have been a relative of hers in London at that time also.

What I would like to know is where and when she was born and when she emigrated to the UK?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Pietronave is an uncommon surname. I know it because is tipical of Buto, Varese Ligure, La Spezia

Yes...all of my internet searches point to that area of Italy. I'll have to pay a visit someday.

I searched in the birth index of Maissana and Sestri Levante( the Pietronave surname was also in this towns), and nobody Enrichetta( Henrietta) was born;
but for Varese Ligure it are no helpful indexes, just the indexes abt this years( helpfuls for the certain priod of time when your Henrietta was born ..probably):

and nobody Enrichetta birth record..
instead the birth acts are( always thinking abt the Henrietta probable time of birth ):

I have a strong feeling she was born in the late 1900's (around 1910).

I base this on the limited information my father revealed from time to time (he didn't talk much about his childhood).

From memory I'm sure he said that she was in her early thirties when she died around 1943 - he had been evacuated during the war but returned to London when she became unwell and sadly passed away. He also showed me a photograph many years ago (which has since gone missing) and she looked like a lady in her late twenties. She was dressed and looked a little like this (30s fashions):

He also told my mother that when his mother died an 'auntie' came for him but he didn't want to go. I have a feeling that the 'auntie' is either Rosa or Nina Pietronave mentioned in this thread:

Hi,
MAYBE I found Henrietta birth; I am very positive that is your ancestor, because Enrico( male) Enrica/ Enrichetta( female) first names, in all records that I read in this days, well in Varese Ligure( covering also the hamlets of Buto and San Pietro Vara) just I found 2 or 3 people with this name.. no most used in Varese Ligure!
