Albanese family of Busso (CB) - Pittsburgh/Cleveland
Re: Albanese family of Busso (CB) - Pittsburgh/Cleveland
It's the Albanese brothers (Nunzio, Clemente, and Liberato) that have me most curious. I have tried the LDS sites but have come up empty so far, but I'm hoping some of the clarity I've gotten tonight might help me.

Re: Albanese family of Busso (CB) - Pittsburgh/Cleveland
I have an N. Albanese living in Westmoreland, PA in 1920 with a young couple named Aubrey & Florence Craig. He was 48 years old at this time and single.
A Liberato Albanese of about the right age was living with a Paparozzi family in Lodi, NJ in 1910.
Clemente is still a mystery.

Re: Albanese family of Busso (CB) - Pittsburgh/Cleveland
Ripalimosani is a small commune of about 2500 inhabitants located 7 km from the provincial capital of Campobasso. It was originally known as Ripa. According to legend, the village was destroyed by the Roman consul Fabio Massimo and the villagers took refuge in the nearby commune of Limosano. Later, when they had rebuilt their village, they added to the name of Ripa that of Limosani (Latin genitive, meaning "of Limosano") as a sign of gratitude. In the early church records of la Cattedrale in Campobasso, it is referred to as “Ripaâ€

Found a family tree on Ancestry for Vittoria Ruberto, wife of Clemente Albanese
It states that Clemente Albanese died in Busso in 1935.
He must have returned to Italy...

The Family Tree (Mitri Family Tree) seems to belong to the child of Angiolina and her husband Carmine Giovanni Mitri (b. 1926 - d. 1995).
The owner name on the tree is giannimitri (probably Gianni Mitri)
Probably in Bedford, England...

Thanks for this John, I have a lot more digging to do.
The birth year I had for Filomena was 1896. Could she have lied about her age in the US in order to be married?

Thanks John.
I actually have a copy of Filomena's Naturalization papers and I just checked them. Her birthday on this document is listed as May 4, 1896 and she lists her birthplace as Busso. She came to America May 8, 1913 and married my gr-gf in Cleveland June 27, 1914.
Her older sister was Christina Palmieri who married someone by the name of Coladangelo (don't have the first name for him right now) in Italy before coming to America.

Another question I have: Why is Giovanni Albanese's age inconsistent on these birth records? Was it common practice to just estimate ages in those days?

Re: Albanese family of Busso (CB) - Pittsburgh/Cleveland
The ages reported for the parents in the birth records of their children (and in death records, for that matter) are notoriously inaccurate. At least in the records of this particular area - Campobasso. The matrimonial records will give you the most accurate ages and the birth records of the oldest children are more accurate than those of the younger ones.Another question I have: Why is Giovanni Albanese's age inconsistent on these birth records?
