Ernesto Scotton and Erminia Galai - Moimacco, Udine

I am trying to trace any information on my grandparents. Ernesto came from Treviso we think and Erminia from Moimacco. We believe there years of birth were 1888 and 1901 respectively. I don;t have anything else apart from they had two children Amerigo or Emerico and Silvana both born in the 1930's.

Any information would be gratefully received.

ahh no they didn't. Sorry is this the wrong type of website? They both lived in Italy till death. My Auntie Silvana and my father Amerigo came to England in the 50's/60's. I have absolutely no information about my grandparents and would love to know more but don't know where to start!

Just need to clarify what information you are looking for.

To request birth, marriage, death records from Italy - you will need to know the exact town of origin.
Treviso is both a city and a province - so it is important to find out precisely where your GF was born...

Do you have arrival records for Amerigo? Does it specify HIS place of birth?

both in Italy. I believe he was from Treviso and she was from or around Moimacco.

just had a word with my dad and he came to this country in 1964. They were both born in Moimacco. He thinks Erminia was an only child and Ernesto had some brothers. Erminia did not come from Moimacco but he couldn't remember where.

You know what I would do is send a letter to the comune of Moimacco, Udine and ask them if they have any info its worth a shot heres some help

I checked to see if the Family History Library has film records of Comune di Moimacco but the dont Sue. Its worth a shot writing to them

Would the friuli in prin site help?

If these villages are in friuli, the surname is known, and you have first names of your ancestors born before the turn of the last century, ie 100 years ago, you used to be able to do an online instant search. Don't know if that is still possible though. They have changed the site around.
