Ok here is another. My other great grandfather is Cologero LaMarca (DeMarco) married to Maria Cardinele and they had 5 children. Lived in Colorado and died in Los Angeles. He was born 1887 in San Biagio, Palermo, Italy.

I can not find where they were married and can not find his parents names. How do I find the state where he was married. How do I find his information in Italy if I do not have his fathers name?

There is a San Biagio Platani, Agrigento Province, Sicily; and a San Biagio, Messina Province, Sicily.

I find no town of San Biagio in Palermo Province... Are you sure of this place of birth you state above?

I have found a manifest for Calogero Marca, arriving 1909, leaving father Giuseppe in San Biagio Platani. Age for this passenger is 22 which would put his birthdate at about 1887.

Yes I do believe it is San Biagio Platani, Agrigento Province, Sicily. His naturalization card has his signature as La Marca. Do I need to contact where he was born and try for his birth information?

The LDS (Mormons) Family History Center has available the microfilmed civil registrations (births, marriages, deaths) for San Biagio Platani from 1821 - 1910.

Mother listed is Anna Tuzzolino (?), his wife, spinner, living with him
Witnesses:
Giuseppe Gioxx(?), 48, laborer; and Carmelo Barbiero, 28, middle class

Ok you guys ROCK! So DeMarco, La Marca, and Marca are all the same? Kinda confusing. I am very new to this adventure so thank you soooo much for all of your help on this everyone!

Tessa78 I do not know when they were married....I wish I did so I can order a copy of the marriage cert. I do think that Mary Cardinele is from Italy but not sure which part. I need to find that out also.
