Macaluso/Salvaggio

Post by LMMacaluso »

Looking for information on Rosario Macaluso (son of Rosario Macaluso and Alfonza Campo) and Nunzia Salvaggio (daughter of Paolo Salvaggio and Crocifissa LaRocca) from Resuttano Sicily. Married 23 September 1908. Birth records for their children born in Resuttano, Sicily, Italy. Possibly a boy and 2 girls born to them in Italy. Crossificia Macaluso born around 1910, Alfonso born around 1909 or vice versa. Or any other children born in the time period of 1908 thru 1914.

Looking at the Indexes for births in 1909 in Resuttano, I could find the following...

Macaluso -
Ignazio
Giuseppa (2)
Salvatore
Lucia

...but not Alfonso or Crossificia :(
I checked each of the above records for father Rosario...none of them are his children...

I'll check 1910 (which is the oldest record year I can access)

Tessa,
Thanks for the information. I didn't have copies of the marriage record but I did know when they were married.

You solved the mystery of Alfonsa, I knew they had an older child. I found her on the Ellis Island manifest. Funny thing is that her sister and brother are still alive, but know nothing about her. I've asked about an Alfonza or Alfonso. I'm trying to enlarge it to print it out. Thanks again. I greatly appreciat it.

T,
Thanks so much for all the information. I really appreciate it! On to the fun of translation! I was able to figure out that Alfonsa was actually my Aunt Frances by the birth dates I had. Hers matched Alfonsa. I'm thinking Crocifissa is my Aunt Lucy. It's kind of making sense now! Thanks again for everything. Great job.
