Hi Michael,

The Family History Center has microfilm for the town of Termini-Imerese. You can go to your nearest FHC and order and rent the film for about $3.50 a roll. It takes about 2-3 weeks for the film to come in and you will be able to find the Birth, Marriage, and Death Acts of your ancestors.

The link below is the microfilm numbers.

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... =1&last=50

Here is the link to find your nearest FHC.

I hope this helps,
Trish

Mfjp,
when it lists immigration 1883 naturalization 1893. Would that be the year he arrived. We had him arriving in 1886. Do you think he would "fudge" a little to become a citizen sooner? Also would you know on ship manifests Do they always list the adults followed by the minors accompanying him?
Thanks for your help.

Hi, I noticed that too.... the immigration year is right on... and many times off too... nothing unusual about this too.. sometimes the person made 2 trips to and from Italy... so info does vary...

Plus you have to consider that the census was taken almost 35-40 years after he arrived... so the memory can change too.. (I know my own father wouldn't be picky about details if a census records keeper was at the door asking questions about his info...)

According to the census, it says he arrived in 1883..

I looked at the ships record I linked... the name below Bova... it also looks like his cousins name Persateri... hard to read... what do you think? I think these manifests Ancestry.com are providing are getting way too small..

But there are other census records to look into.. 1900 and 1910 ..I know wldspirit posted more info (great!!) and immigration info should be in those records.

So, there's more info to look for... if someone can do that, it would be great, otherwise I will certainly look it up later... as the battles for the computers at home continues...

Did he have a middle name??

Mfjp,
Thanks for the info. I was kind of thinking that to, with so many people in the house and I don't believe he spoke english so he might have been misunderstood or didnt care. As far as I know he did not have a middle name. It's actually spelled Pusateri, Two cousins married into the family. Tony married Mary Bova in 1918. Nellie was married to a Pusateri as well.
Frank's parents were Philipo Bova and Antevtna Busaten.
Frank's wife was Philipa (scarloto? coming across multiple spellings with that one) her parents were Michael Scarlota and Josephine Caito.
I am going to FHC later this week to try and order film for birth records for Farnk putting his birth around 1866 or so. Thanks so much for the help. It seems like every name leads to more questions, but that is half the fun...speculating! thanks again to you and wildspirit!

Thanks to everyones help I continue to make headway. I have not come across any surnames of "Busaten" which would be Franks mothers maiden name. This is whats listed on his death certificate. However I am of the feeling that with thick accents pronunciations can be misunderstood. If I follow that logic, I have come across a birth of Francesco Bova on the 14 of October( the month matches)1865 (one year off) to the parents of Filipo Bova (matches) and Antonina Pusateri. Busaten? Pusateri? This would be the missing link on the Pusateri connection as there are several listed as cousins in the census. The naming of the children after the parents of the couple also matches. Would this be wishful thinking on my part or is this a logical conclusion?
