NYC - Acceptance Letter Arrived -4/25/11

Post by JavaisLife »

Hi Everyone,

I was so excited I posted this in the wrong section. .... ha!

I first want to thank everyone so much for all the help that I received on this forum. My journey was def. a long one. 4 years in total.

I AM SO HAPPY TO BE FINALLY WRITING AN ACCEPTANCE POST!!!!!!

My first appointment was in Sept:
topic18371.html

I received a rejection letter in Jan (a week before my brother and mother had their appointments). Read the thread on how I had everything corrected, etc.:
topic20191.html

Today, my brother, mother and I all received our acceptance letters! Our last appointment was on Jan 21st and our letters arrived today April 25th.

Thank you all!
Marie

Congratulations!!! I hope that you have a great time in Italy this summer, and you can now go as a citizen. (I did read that you were going to Italy this summer, right?) Best wishes to you, and thank you for taking the time to help others as they go through the process. :)

I will be applying for dual citizenship soon, hopefully I will be successful as well. I'm going through the Philadelphia Counsulate, so wish me luck.

Congratulazioni! This is very inspiring considering all the hurdles you had to jump through. And it's great to see that people are getting their acceptance letters within 3 months from their appointment.

My appointment is March 1, 2012 in Philly and I'd like to move to Rome soon after so I really hope my application is processed quickly. I received my GGP's documents from the comune within 2 weeks of the fax I sent, so I'm taking that as a good sign.

So what are your plans now that you're a citizen??

Thanks everyone!!!

@Kontessa - you are correct, I was planning a trip to Italy this summer to study Italian and visit friends. However, I may want to change things up a bit, now that I'm able to do more in EU than before. :)

I really want to thank everyone on this board for all of their help and support. I think the biggest hurdles to overcome are frustration and patience. This board has def. served as a good sounding board for my rants and raves when I wanted to give up, or tell someone to f' off :)

My family thanks you.

PS - Now, I tried to make an appointment at the consulate for my passport. It looks like there is a month wait. Am I correct on this? I'd prefer to be able to just walkin. Thoughts?

Congratulations Marie!! Your posts were extremely helpful to us all as you just didn't quit and got those darned clerks to do their jobs. I admire your determination and persistence -- and you won!
