Not sure if this is my family, but some of the names in the record are the same names I have in my tree (Francesco Matafu, Antonino Matamuf & Carmela.

1871 Dec 3rd recorded/ birth on the 1st of Giuseppa Matafu daughter of Antonio Matafu age 36 son of deceased Francesco Matafu and wife Carmina Consenzo age 30 daughter of deceased Rosario Consenzo had a baby girl named Giuseppa Matafu
Sidenote 1896 Feb 9th marriage of Giuseppa Matafu and Gaetano Peccini?? in Patti

Recorded on 3 December 1871
Father: Antonino Matafù, age 36, peasant farmer and son of deceased Francesco
Mother: Carmela Costanzo(?), age 33, peasant farmer, daughter of deceased ????
Child was born at 8 PM on the 1st of December at the place at Contrada Camera

Thank you, I'm not sure if this is a relation, but I will keep it in mind, just in case.

Off the subject, but I was wondering if accurate death records were kept of those who perished in the 1908 Messina earthquake. I was told that my great-grandparents (Antonio Crifo and Angela Aprile (or D'Aprile) were killed in the disaster. I can't seem to find their death records, so I am beginning to think the rumor was true.
