Latin Marriage Record 1760

Post by DP17 »

Would someone please give me a little help with translating this one? Please let me know if I have missed something important. I am just beginning to learn Latin. It is the one on the right hand side page 377.

Giacomo Torrisi and Angela Gagliano
September 1760
Town of San Giovanni La Punta
Groom's parents Josephi (Giuseppe) and Anna Gagliermino (does that look right???)
Bride's parents Phiredici (Any thoughts on what his non-Latin name might be???) and Agata Fisichella.

Giacomo Torrisi and Angela Gagliano
September 21, 1760
Town of San Giovanni La Punta
Groom's parents Josephi (Giuseppe) and (deceased)Anna Gugliermino (does that look right???) Current surname in town is Gugliemino, but it is spelled Gugliermino in the record
Bride's parents (deceased) Phiredici (Any thoughts on what his non-Latin name might be???)-can't find anything on this Latin name and (living) Agata Fisichella.
Witnesses were Mario Scalia and (Maestro)* Giuseppe lo Sciuto. *Maestro is a title meaning master of whatever his trade or occupation was.

Federico, yes, that does make sense when I say Phiredici out loud. Thank you both again for helping me with the names of my 7th great-grandparents.
