Hello,
I am at a stand still with information on my great great grandparents.
I see on the NY pass list that 4 of them arrived in NYC on Nov 17 1901 from Valledomo Italy. I see on the pass list a cousin but I can not make out the first name and see the last name as Ciro.
My family info is:
Franceso Inguaggiato b 1870 d 1954
Salvatora Scacciaferro b 1877 d 1940
Daughter Rosa Inguagiato b 1893 d 1980
Son Orazio Inguagiato b 1896 * what is the american version of ORAIZO?
I have written to the Comune di valledolmo looking for birth information 4 months ago - they have not responded as of yet.
Can anyone lead me into the right direction.
Thank you
Rose

Have you accessed the LDS Family History Library records at your nearest Family History Center? They have civil records on microfilm for Valledolmo from 1820 - 1910.I have written to the Comune di valledolmo looking for birth information 4 months ago - they have not responded as of yet.
Can anyone lead me into the right direction.

Re: Inguaggiato Scacciaferro surnames
I have an Inguagiato ancestor from Valledolmo as well. Her name was Grazia, she was born around 1800 and married into my Leone family. My Leones intermarried with Barones and Manueles.
I don't have a clear enough picture yet to tell you if there is a connection, but if I find anything I will let you know. In the meantime I would also suggest you look at familysearch.org. They have extensive records from Valledolmo and other towns in the Palermo province. It can be slow work browsing the records, but I have been able to go back three generations farther than I could before.
