Death Record help

Post by bvbellomo »

Here is the 28 Oct 1811 death record of Maria Di Valerio, age 30, wife of Vincenzo Della Porta, born, lived and died in Cercemaggiore. I have the actual record, and a copy from a marriage:

What is her father's name? Looks like 'Costanzao'? What about her mother? Angela Colagiovanni? Are they still alive? Is her husband ailve? Is this his 2nd marriage? Does it name his first wife or his parents? Any place other than Cercemaggiore mentioned? What are the children's names mentioned?

Here is Domenica's death record. It is witnessed by a Michele la Porta, who is too old to be the Michele on the previous record. I think it says how he is related to Domenica, but I can't read it. Can someone tell me what it says?

The date at the top of the record is May 4, 1812.

The middle name of the bride was Lucrezia-her name was Mariantonia Lucrezia di Maria. You can clearly see her middle name later in the record.

I don't know why I wrote 5 instead of 4...
and I know why I overlooked Mariantonia's middle name.
Thanks for backing me up!

Does it say Vincenzo's first wife's name?

Does it say when Carmina died?

Here is Giuseppe's death record:

I can't read his wife's name, but it doesn't look like Carmina Petronja.

It doesn't say his parents are dead, and says where they are from (Cercepiccola and Cercemaggiore). Does this mean they are alive? His father is Giorgio, can you read his mother's name?

The death record of Giuseppe della Porta
Dated Sept 15, 1811 at 3:30 P.M.
He died at 1 in the night at age 59.
He was the husband of Maria Teresa Berardo, and the son of Giorgio della Porta of Cercepiccola and Domenica(???) Testa of Cerecmaggiore; peasant/farmers living in this town on Strada Portabella. He left behind his wife and three adult children: Vincenzo, Cosmo, and Antonio. The informants on the record were acquaintances and in no way related.

Obviously, they were alive if they were living in the town on the street mentioned in my reply.
