Hi There,

Can you be a little more specific and tell us the full names of the people you are looking for? Can you give us their year of birth and where they settled? The more information you give us, the more we can help you.

Please get back to us.

Re: more info on Looking for surname

Post by ferringamo »

My paternal and maternal grandparents all came from siracusa and floridia provinces of Sicily. There names were:

Frank Insolia 7/5/1883 to 6/24/74 & Assunda (Milazzo) Insolia 9/21/1888 to 7/18/62 - Buried in Edgewater Cemetary, Edgewater, Volusia County, Fla.

Joseph Regina 3/10/1886 to 2/74 & Francesca (Salerno) Regina 5/25/1885 to 1963. - Buried in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetary, Bloomfield, CT

I have been able to find records of when Joseph and Francesca Regina arrived by ship to Ellis Island on the Ellis Island site. But cannot find any record of Frank and Assunda.

I would like to find relatives in Sicily, if any are left.

Hi There,

Did Frank and Assunda have the children: Frank, Salvo, and Thomas?
If so, then this could be them in the 1920 census

Name: Frank Insolia
Age: 38 years
Estimated birth year: abt 1882
Birthplace: Italy
Marital status: Married
Relation to Head of House: Head
Year of immigration: 1907
Mother's Birth Place: Italy
Father's Birth Place: Italy
Image: 442
Image Source: Year: 1920; Census Place: Winchester, Litchfield, Connecticut; Roll: T625_187; Page: 2A; Enumeration District: 233; Image: 442.

Still looking for manifest.

Hi Maria,

Thank you for posting the census for me. I'm trying everything to find them. Well that's when I have an internet. The rain here is knocking out power all over.

Thanks again.

Hi Again,

Forgot to give you the link for Infobel which is a telephone directory. This could help you locate people still in the town with the same surname.

Here is the link
http://www.infobel.com/italy/wp/search/default.asp

I hope this helps

I know this is a few years late but I just happen to get back on the site that I had forgotten all about. Want to thank all of you for helping find my grandparents on the Ellis Island site. Their names were misspelled and that is why I could not find them but thanks to your investigation they have been found!
