Can anyone help read Salvatore Mazzola's occupation (Cairolaio?) and his father's (Zintore?)?

We are very close but I see:
Calzolaio - Shoemaker, Cobbler
Tintore - Dyer

Re: Occupation Help
I believe you are correct on 'Calzolaio'.
I don't see how his father was a 'Tintore'. There are no other letters on this record that start with 'T' and the other records on the page look like they were written by someone else.
Go back 1 page, and there are other records with a similar script, probably written by the same person, and they have words that start with a 'T' (both capital and lower) and it looks nothing like this letter.
I posted this a while back:

I believe this is the same Santo Mazzola who has the same occupation. At that time, someone suggested he was a 'Zimatore' - a cutter of cloth.

Re: Occupation Help
Looking at your first post...
the occupation of Santo Mazzola does appear to begin with "T" - look at the surname of the official... "Trapani" which forms the "t" the same way.
My thoughts are with an occupation of "tiratore" which is a wool stretcher. This would be more in keeping with your other document identifying him as a cloth cutter.
However, "tintore" is definitely a possibility, too...

Re: Occupation Help
I think we will just have to differ on this one, for now.
While I do hear you both I still clearly see the word “Tintore” and I think that it would also fit. The first letter is definitely a “T” and on referring to a section on handwriting examples in a book I have borrowed from the library (Finding your Italian Ancestors) one of the capital “T” examples is exactly the same.
Hopefully as you are going through the records you may find more children of Santo and Maria which may give more clarity to Santo's occupation. When you do, come back to the forum and let us know, I'm always keen to learn more.
