Perrotta Marriage Cert.

Post by pmcass »

Hello,

I would like to have the handwritten part of this marriage cert. translated. The left hand side, for Perrotta & Angelicchio, is the one I interested in. Thanks.

Record No 1: Francesco Perrotta and Maria Antonia Angelicchio
Dated: 17 January 1897 at 11.45 a.m. in the town office in Baragiano

Before the official appeared:

Francesco Perrotta, aged 21, farmer, born and living in Baragiano, son of Nicola and Maria Giuseppa Ciancella, both parents residing in Baragiano.

Maria Antonia Angelicchio, aged 19, domestica - Maid, Servant, born in Muro Lucano, living in Baragiano, daughter of Giovanni, living in Baragiano and the late Maria ?, who lived in Muro Lucano when living.

The banns were posted on 20 and 27 December 1896.

(There are some really good records for Muro Lucano on line which include allegati. Not sure if you have seen these.)

I'm just going to check on Maria Giuseppa's surname. I'm not sure I have this correct?

I think that Maria Antonia's mother was the late Maria "Di Muro". Another pair of eyes would be great to confirm whether Maria Giuseppa's surname was Ciancella/Ciandella? I think it is probably Ciandella as I've not seen Ciancella before.

You are very welcome. I am pleased I could help.

I've had a little time today so thought I would help search for Maria Antonia's parents marriage record. I'm pretty sure this is it:

INDEX 52: MARRIAGE RECORD: GIOVANNI ANGELICCHIO AND MARIA DIMURO
Record is dated 31 August 1867 at 3 p.m. Muro Lucano

Details of the couple:
Giovanni Angelicchio, unmarried man, aged 26 (1841), son of Marino and Teresa Zanniello and

Maria Dimuro, unmarried woman, aged 19 (1848), daughter of Antonio Dimuro, and Lucia Tavarone, farmers living in Muro Lucano

The banns were posted 11 and 18 August.

Muro Lucano Genealogical Website

Post by AngelaGrace56 »

I have just come across the following website and thought that you might find it interesting and helpful to look at:

Muro Lucano Genealogical Website: http://murolucano.webs.com/surnamerecordsearch.htm

It looks like it has recently been updated so the information should be current.

Finally, the spouses' were assisted by their respective parents who were present and gave their assent to this marriage, as appears to me from the act of publication.

May I ask how you found these links on Family Search? I am looking for the same kind of records for Corleto Perticara (famiglia Vitale), primarily, and am interested in Baragiano (Ciardella, Perrotta) also. If such links exist for Corleto Perticara, could you kindly tell me how to find these links - or post them, if it's no trouble for you to do? Grazie in anticipo!!

Hi

You can start with the following:

Corleto Perticara 1866-1910: https://www.familysearch.org/search/ima ... %3D2043547

Baragiano 1866-1910: https://www.familysearch.org/search/ima ... %3D2043547

Both towns are in the Province of Potenza.

For earlier records you can take a look here: http://dl.antenati.san.beniculturali.it ... i+Potenza/
