Terranova

Post by dmt1955 »

i am reviewing ancestral records from the town of Altavilla Irpina, there are a few of them at indicate the town of birth to be Terranova FC.

I can find Terranova on google maps and in avitrees, but none that seem also to have an F C which could account for this abbreviation. I am assuming that it is in Salerno, given the proximity, but, I would like to be more certain.

any thoughts?

thanks so much,
Donna

Donna, would it be possible to post an image of this notation? That may help us...

the map from that link is helpful in that it shows the location. thanks, erudita.

i guess what i am wondering is why it would not show up in google maps or even on avitrees.

It's one of four frazioni of the town of Arpaise, so that could be the reason it is not showing up. Look at this link below which also shows neighboring towns of Arpaise, including Altavilla Irpina. So I do think this is the correct Terranova.

I have so many websites bookmarked that I sometimes forget about them. Happy I finally remembered this one and that it seems to have helped clarify things.
