So glad you found this birth for Catarina. By the date of the marriage, looks like her mother and siblings were able to be there as they arrived March 2, 1913. I've not found when Catarina came to USA, but census records indicated 1910. I'll keep checking. The Nicola Fasano family is really being documented thanks to both of your diligent work.

Just located Maria's birth. It was Jan 26, 1896 (the one without the index!). Thank you both for teaching me enough so that I could locate this!! Will now look for the last child -- Carmelia born in 1904.

Happy to hear you found that one on your own.

Here is a death record for a Giovanni Fasano who died on Aug 14, 1891 (record #98- dated the 15th but the infant died yesterday (ieri). Child of Nicola Fasano, a day laborer, and Anna Petito, peasant/farmer, living with her husband. Died at age18 months in the house on Via Pisciarelli. The infant's name in the index (image 1199 of 2172), and in the record itself, appears to be masculine, but I believe that this is a death record for Giovannina who was born in Feb of 1890. The sex in the birth record is definitely feminine, not only because of the ending on the name, but also because the birth record reads that the infant is feminine. So I am inclined to think there is an error in the death record.

Thank you so much for supplying me with this email, and the letter in Italian. Would they respond to me, and then tell me the cost of the actual marriage certificate?

Some of these years erudite shared and some I added. I will continue to work on locating indexes as I think this would be so helpful to all researchers. I'm finally getting the hang of how to look although some of those 1900 years get very confusing! (I'll send you an example later)

Nati 1881-1906 1 of 3033 2nd book of births:

1886-index 864 of 3033

1887 index image 993 of 3033
1888 image 1133-no index
1889 image 123 of 3033
1890 image 1389 of 3023
1891-image 1509 of 3033.

1892, index image 1628 of 3033.

1893 index image 1731 of 3033

1894-

1895 index-image 1971 of 3033
1896-index 2085 only goes to surnames starting with the letter C.
1897-index image 2197 of 3033

1898-index 2311 of 3033

1899

1900 index = ?

1901

1902

1904 Index 2864 of 3033

1905

I have a huge book of indexes of Italian towns I keep for reference makes it helpful in researching because your always going back for different branch lines of a family Some towns have 10 year indexes called Indici decennale which is great for quick researching

On Birth Records, are the Witness names significant --- would they be related to the family in some way, or just a neighbor or someone at the Record Office?
