Help with translation of marriage record

Post by ItalianbellaSA »

Hi Everyone! Hope the new year is treating everyone well. My granddaughter is due to be born very soon. Little Angelina Rose is due to arrive on January 15th! We are hoping it will be this weekend!

I am having a little trouble translating the following marriage record. I would like to know if Pasquale Annelli's father, Alberto, is deceased at the time of the marriage. I can't seem to find the death record for him and maybe this will help narrow the research. This is what I have so far:

http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

Marriage: May 9, 1926
Groom: Pasquale Anelli, born in Noja, age 26, son of Alberto and Vittoria Sozio (sp?)
Bride: Teresa de Trani, Age 22, born in Noja, daughter of ?

Thank you for your time.

Sue Antista
It is hoped that the research I am doing helps to discover, preserve and celebrate my family history.

Sue
I read the day as the 19th and not the 9th.

I read Pasquale's age as 27 and not 26.

His father, Alberto, was deceased (del fu appears before his name).

Sozio does appear to be Vittoria's surname.

Bride's surname I read as Di Trani and not De Trani

Her father, Vito Di Trani
her mother: deceased Giovanna (surname looks like Pozzi to me, which is found in the province)

celebration of the marriage in the parish (right column) was on the 25th.

I even checked the indices at the end of this group of records. For each record, there is the name of both the groom and bride and each one's parents' names. BUT for this particular record, only the groom and his parents are listed in the index. I thought that seeing the surname in the index might clarify it, but no such luck.

The marriage date is 25 May 1926, and is written on the right column.
The date 19th on the left column refers to the marriage promise.

Livio,
I already pointed this out in my initial reply above. Thanks for reiterating this.
