Well to me it looks like Geronima but I actually think that it is Geroninia. The eye facing the wrong way looks the same as the "i" on the opposite page in the word Antonio? You certainly have some challenging scripts Donna.

Now that I have been away and come back the second name very clearly looks like "Gesummina". (I am still debating the first name Geronima/Geroninia.)

Geronima is the correct spelling. I've never heard "Gesummina" and I can't figure out what that name is!

the second name may be a variation of the name Gesamina. Possibly it was turned into a diminutive such as Gesaminina, although I can't find anything on such a diminutive spelling.

Hi Livio, I've just been googling the name "Gesummina" and there are instances of the name online. I still clearly read the name as "Gesummina". I have located the following record which was indexed as "Gesummina" but when I look at the actual record it looks like "Gesumnina" (one "m" but an "n" in its place). I guess that could be another option but it wouldn't be so easy to say.

No 699 Gesumnina: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... cc=1482813

I found several Gesummina's in naples and Salerno areas.
I guess it is a corruption of an original Gelsomina into a word that sounds like "Gesù mio" ("my Jesus").
