Italian writing on back of photograph

Post by sal4 »

Hi Everyone..........I need some help.....I have a picture of my Grandmother and Greatgrandmother around 1895-1904 and on the back of the picture it reads....

Stabilimento Fotografico
Nicola Palumbo
Difronte alle Monache di S. benedello in vallala
Piedimonte D'Alfie

A person I met today at the LDS center told me to try and search the writing on the pack of this picture and it may lead me to more pictures taken at this studio and maybe lost pictures of my Grandmother, (exp on e-bay etc.).....I tried and I found nothing...........Thanks.......Sal4
Looking for surnames Iasalvatore (Salvatore), Tartaglia, Rosetta, Consola, Di Muccio, Castellano, Montanaro, Dipaolo, Costa, Sansone, Giudicianni and Laudato.

Nicola Palumbo (probably the owner)
Facing the Nuns (convent) of Saint Benedello in Vallala

It's probable that is San Benedetto in Vallata
Piedimonte D'Alife
(search with Google maps 81016 Piedimonte Matese CE or Wiki http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piedimonte_Matese or check this http://209.85.229.132/search?q=cache:4P ... clnk&gl=it)
