Hi all,
Would some one be willing to help with the translation of the below birth record of Pietro Floreno? I can make out the key elements such as names and ages. Does the record state who the grandparents are?
Thanks for any help!
Valerie

Re: Help with a birth record translation
to add to Donna's translation-the midwife made the presentation of the infant, and declaration of the birth, in place of the baby's father, as he was absent from the country at the time.

Re: Help with a birth record translation
Thank you so much! What part of the document is this stated in so I can try to learn more Italian. What was the Midwifes name? Is it Giovanna, 60 years old?
Thanks Erudita!

Re: Help with a birth record translation
Following Giovanna's age is the word levatrice which means midwife. On the second page of the document, 5th line above the signature, it says "in luogo del marito della Simonetti il quale non ho potuto denuciarla perche' assente dal paese.."
in place of the husband of Simonetti the one who could not report it (the word "la" for "it" is feminine and therefore refers to the word nascita or birth) because (he was) absent from the country
Hope this helps.
